Restraining Orders

You are here: Home » Restraining Orders

As part of a divorce proceeding, the court can and typically does enter restraining orders.  A restraining order restrains a party in the case from doing something.  The types of orders are limitless.  Typical restraining orders are as follows:

1.  Order restraining the change of beneficiaries on life insurance.

2.  Order restraining the disposal of assets or incurring debt.

3.  Order restraining a party from harassing another party.

4.  Order restraining modification of auto insurance.

5.  Order restraining modifications of health insurance.

Restraining orders are not needed in every case.  They are obtained through a motion requesting the court to issue the order to prevent a particular act.  If there is a particular concern, you should immediately tell your attorney so that a motion can be filed to protect your interests.
